                                        2022 2 x 4 CHALLENGE 

                                 A Special Message to Our Members  

The Suncoast Woodcrafters will be hosting a casual, in-person summer wrap-up party on June 21, 2022. It will be held at Coopers Green Hall from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and is open to all members, significant others and guests. Ticket prices are $20 per person.  Along with access to the event, your ticket will include a cold appetizer buffet, beer and wine, door prizes and a showcase of 2x4 projects.  

There are, however, some changes from past events.  We are now going to refer to the event as the Summer Wrap-up Party or the Mid-Summer Party. The display of 2x4 Challenge projects, and associated stories, being the high light of the event.  Secondly and probably most importantly, this will not be a judged competition. We are stepping away from the head-to-head competition format of the past. The Challenge we’re looking at now is            “Woodworker Vs. 2x4” not “Woodworker Vs. Woodworker”. 

We hope this shift in focus will encourage more participation in this well loved and highly anticipated event. We encourage everyone, whatever your skill level, to find a likely looking 2x4 and have a go. The 2x4 Challenge rules remain the same as in previous years but with the above changes added in.  We are also encouraging a connection to the Toys and Gifts program. If the 2x4 project you choose might work as a gift, please consider donating it to the T&G program (or making two!).  

             All participants will be awarded a participation ribbon.
