Presidents Report
Brian Lucas reported that the Guild had another successful year of growth. We have 44 paid up members. This is slightly more than last year. Our average meeting attendance of 20-25 members is very encouraging. Education is still the main interest of the Guild members. With such a good attendance, it appears that we have had topics of interest for the members.
· The first 2X4 challenge was held at our June meeting.
· In August, Guild members participated in the Sechelt Arts Festival
· We had our first Router and Turning Workshops in the fall with more planned for the coming year.
· The second annual Toys for Kids Project was a success.
· Our Website continues to improve.
· The Virtual Library has been updated.
· We still have Thirteen Corporate Sponsors. For information on the sponsors check the website.
Looking ahead, we are making good progress on the Brochure and the Logo. We also have several workshops planned and are hopeful that we will have many entries in this year’s 2X4 Challenge.
Brian said that since this was his last duty as President, he wanted to thank the many volunteers who have
made this Guild possible. They include the present executive: Hourigan, Larsson, Bell, Walker, and
Monroe as well as Peter Clayden, Steve Willgoose, Larry LeHeup for their early work. He also extended his thanks to David Bell, Alex Lenko, Barry Vachon, Don Kernan, Greg Gebka, Selina Statnyk and Richard Barry.

He asked for even better participation in 2007 and suggested that all interested members contact him early in the year since they had some problems getting supplies late in the year.
Website
D. Bell reported that there had been over 2,000 “hits” on the website in 2006. This shows that the website is being used. New member, Rory Quinn, said that this was how he found out about the Guild. Logo
D. Kernan and G. Gebka discussed the Logo. A prototype was circulated at the Christmas party and the members had provided several suggestions. These changes were presented and new input was provided. It was decided that Greg would incorporate these new suggestions and bring the changes to the next meeting.
New Business
G. Cross asked if there was any interest from the members to acquire a portable sawmill and/or a kiln. He mentioned that the Vancouver Island Woodworking Guild has a wood recovery program and suggested that our Guild may be interested in doing the same. Before making a decision on this, members are asked to visit www.viwg.com to see how the Vancouver Island group is handling this. Gary Cross will coordinate a committee to study this in more detail. Pat Burns volunteered to contact a person who may have some used equipment for sale.
Rick Crook will run a course in cedar strip canoe building this spring in Pender Harbour. Cost is $95 and the course will run on one Sunday and six evenings, starting March 4. To register, please contact the Pender Harbour Community School at: 604-883-2826, or e-mail: phcs@dccnet.com.
